Ornament Item Number: Sf692 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

A thin disc of yellow coloured metal with a border of embossed dots and an indent. One hole punched near edge.

History Of Use

A very similar disc is cited by Root as coming from an Ica grave, designated Middle Ica II by Kroeber and Strong. This disc is very light and the placement of holes suggests it may have been attached by sewing to a fabric.

Narrative

Possibly Ica Style, Middle Horizon or Late Intermediate Period; 900-1300 C.E.
